Most of my peers are now looking back wistfully over their shoulders to a time when life was simpler, faith stronger and hope sprung eternal. I have to say that life has become simpler for us, we believe the best is yet to come and as for faith....
We're off to Denmark for a two weeks vacation. Denmark probably the most boring country in the world, where the highest mountain is 450 feet, the biggest export: tiny plastic bricks and among the leading tourist attractions a little mermaid and hippie commune. Then again the good and the great of Denmark marry beautiful Aussie women so they must have something going for them! And Denmark has given us bacon, pastries, fizzy girl beer, the occasional philosopher, story teller and Manchester United footballer, and isolated beach-side holiday homes.
It's for the last on this list we are grateful. In one of these homes, we intend to stop, think and pray, instead of run, decide, and perhaps pray. I'm excited about the new things I will discover of the love the Father has for me, the salvation the Son has worked for me, and how the Holy Spirit can make it all real to me. After all I've nothing else to do!
